Knotts Cottage is surrounded by a rural landscape of open fields, farmland and moor-land commanding extensive views over the adjacent countryside of the West Pennine Moors.
Set in 3 acres of mature landscaped gardens and meadows, the house and main garden nestle on a former quarry floor which provides a unique natural amphitheatre for the well established gardens.
There are 3 ponds, the main one being situated to the side of the house taking advantage of a natural spring and sound of the waterfalls bringing a pleasant ambiance to the garden. It is well stocked with mature koi which are protected by our resident heron (a plastic deterrent to the real thing!).
Guests are invited to take advantage of the numerous paths and trails but we only ask that you please ensure that any gates are kept closed at all times - this is not only for the sake of our dogs but also to ensure the safety of the large number of sheep and their lambs in the adjoining fields.
